Alejandro Nicolas Aguzin (Chinese: 歐冠昇; born 1968) is an Argentinian banker. On 24 May 2021 he joined Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) as its Chief Executive Officer.[1][2][3].

Biography

Aguzin is Argentinian by birth and is a permanent resident of Hong Kong[4]. He also holds a Croatian passport.[5]

In 1990, He obtained a bachelor degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.[6][5]. He speaks Spanish, Portuguese and English[5]

After graduation, Aguzin spent more than 30 years with J.P Morgan Chase,[5] starting from a financial analyst in 1990. He became CEO of JP Morgan’s international private bank in 2019. On 9 February 2021, HKEX announced that it had appointed Aguzin as chief executive officer, effective 24 May 2021 for a term of three years, until 23 May 2024.[1][2].
