Neil is best known for his work in digital marketing and social media and as the creator of Ubersuggest (a popular SEO tool).[5][6]

Early life

Neil was born in London, UK, in 1985.[7] At the age of two, his parents decided to move to Orange County, CA, with Neil and his sister, Amee.[8]

Neil started taking courses at Cypress Community College while still in high school, and few years later he became an SEO consultant while still in collage.

[9]Neil has a wife and one child.[10]

Career

Neil is involved in tens of projects. He best known for Crazy Egg, Kissmetrics, Neil Patel Digital, his SEO tool Ubersuggest [5][6] and his successful podcast Marketing School.[11]

Advice monkey

At the age of 16, Neil established his first business, a job-board website named Advice Monkey.[12][13] Despite the fact that it consistently ranked on Google for job and career terms, thus generating more than 100,000 monthly visitors, he decided to close it due to the fact that he didn't have enough money to market or monetize it.

Crazy egg

In 2008, a short time after finishing his degree at Cypress Community College, Patel established his first successful venture: Crazy Egg, which is an online platform that offers website owners analytics tools, such as Heat Map, Scroll Map, Overlay, and Confetti, to track a website's operation.[14][15][16] In 2002, Crazy Egg and Neil bought Hello bar.[17]

Kissmetrics

In early January 2017, Neil purchased the Kissmetrics website for $500,000. Kissmetrics is a web analytics application that delivers key insights and user interaction on websites to help SaaS and e-commerce companies accelerate their growth.[18]

Neil Patel Digital

NP Digital was co-founded by Neil Patel in 2017. NP Digital is a marketing agency specializing in performance marketing. Its services entail content marketing, data, analytics, video and search. [19]

Ubersuggest

In February 2017, Neil acquired Ubersuggest, which started off as a keyword research tool. However, these days, Ubbesuggest is used for much more than just keyword research, as it boasts many other rich features, including an SEO Analyzer, A/B Testing Calculator, a Backlink Checker, among other tools, making it one of the biggest SEO tools online.[20]

Media

Marketing School

In early 2017, Neil co-founded the daily podcast Marketing School with the well-known entrepreneur Eric Siu. Marketing School is considered by many as one of the most popular digital marketing podcasts in the podcast realm. [21]

Books

Hustle: The Power to Charge Your Life with Money, Meaning, and Momentum.

In 2016, Neil co-authored a book titled Hustle: The Power to Charge Your Life with Money, Meaning and Momentum. The book is a type of career guide and was included on both The New York Times and Los Angeles Times best-seller lists.[22][23]

The book teaches new, inexperienced entrepreneurs how to redefine hustle and find the optimal path to success.

Fortune named the book a "must-read for any entrepreneur."[24][25]

Recognition

Neil, like other successful entrepreneurs, garners a lot of appreciation as well as criticism from the public, especially in the digital advertising community. His name is well-recognized and respected worldwide.
