Nadia Sabkhi (Arabic:نادية سبخي ) is an Algerian writer for whom a number of books have been published, the most notable being the jasmine dance under the guise of my soul, as well as Caesarean sighs.[1][2]

In her novels, Nadia mostly deals with women's issues, especially women's issues in Algeria, as well as religious issues, particularly Islamic issues, because there is no significant relationship and influence on women's subjects.[3][4]

Career

Nadia Sabkhi released a book entitled "Under the Guise of My Soul"(original title:Taht sitar rohi) in which she dealt with the consequences of the security crisis on Algerian women and their debate about the hijab. As the title of the book indicates, Nadia said that the veil issue for her is more spiritual than hood related.[5] She later published a book, the third in her career in the writing and writing world, "Caesarean Sighs," in which she adopted and even imposed the idea of commitment, warning of the danger of retracting the gains which the Algerians have achieved since the Libertarian Revolution, especially if this falls under the cover of religion.[6]

In this book, Nadia addressed her ideas culturally rather than ideologically by restoring the biography of women in Islam and their role in their communities, in order to negate the negative image that is attached to Islam and its relationship with women, as she later stated.[7][8]

Nadia published another book, "The Jasmine Dance"(original title:raqsat al yasamin) in which she approached the problems of Muslim women philosophically through Muslims' relationship with others. She was considered to be a precursor later, specifically when speaking to the Voice of Women radio site.

Limiting today's debate to the body of women and their clothing is offensive to the dignity of women as an under organism and is being foreclosed.[9]

In her book, Nadia implicitly called on women, especially the new generation of women writers and intellectuals, not to succumb to silence, but to work and seek to impose oneself in the sphere of public life and to advance the debate to touch the serious issues of society.[10][11]

Views

In her intervention, Nadia Sabkhi focuses on a number of topics, including the evolution of the women's pen after the independence of Algeria from Asia to the new generation. Nadia believes that the picture presented by women writers today has not changed, despite all the gains women in employment and education.[12]

Nadia also believes that women today are declining their voices in society and do not meet their level of status. Today, they are outside their status as wives and mothers with no social value with evidence that women today buy their status with money, where women derive their legitimacy through their contribution within the family, and the Algerian writer stresses that even if a woman has the financial ability to have an independent life, society does not enable her to do so and looks at her with suspicion, especially if she is divorced or single.[13]

In the same vein, Nadia Sabkhi addressed her book "Asia Jabbar: Following in the footsteps of a committed woman, "Asia's character as a writer, a fighter and a critic of the plastic arts has always opposed the fact that women are simply decorated and physical she even responded to Dola Croix's painting "Women of Algeria in Their Apartment" with a book with the same title where she presented the real face of Algerian women.[14]

Nadia Sarkhi is known for her advocacy of women's issues and, since her first book, Silent Love, has even committed herself to defending women's causes and her cultural approach to Islam.[15]

Nadia decided to be a woman from the beginning, but not in the negative sense, but in the positive sense of the obligation issue. In her first book, the Algerian writer has shown the excesses that are practiced against women socially under religious cover, the stories of the novels were exposed to the relationship of human prayer to his actions and how he presented himself to God based on his actions.[16]
