Muthamilselvi Narayanan (born 9 May 1989) is an Indian sportsperson and mountaineer. She is noted for being the first Tamil woman to scale Mount Everest. and the first Tamil woman to scale the highest peaks of five continents within 267 days (2023-2024).
On 23 May 2023, Muthamilselvi Narayanan scaled Mount Everest, becoming the first Tamil woman to reach the summit. She received the Kalpana Chawla-2023 award from the Tamil Nadu state government on 15 August 2023, recognizing her achievement of scaling Mount Everest. She comes from johilpatti village, virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu State.
Prior to this, Muthamilselvi Narayanan climbed Mount Kangyatse II (5,500 meters) on 16 April 2022 and Mount Lobuje (6,090 meters) on 19 April 2023.
In addition to her mountaineering achievements, Muthamilselvi Narayanan has participated in various other sports and adventure activities:
- On 7 March 2021, to mark Women's Day and raise awareness of women's capabilities, she descended from a 155-foot-high mountain "malaipattu" near Sriperumbudur, Chennai, while blindfolded, setting a record recognized by UNICO World Records[1]
- On 23 December 2021, Muthamilselvi Narayanan and her two daughters performed a blindfolded rappel from a hilltop in Kulang village, Himachal Pradesh, with Muthamilselvi Narayanan carrying her 10-year-old daughter on her back. This was done to raise awareness about sexual violence against girls. The trio descended 165 feet in 55 seconds, setting a UNICO World Records.
- On 26 January 2022, during the Republic Day event, she dressed as Veera Mangai Velu Nachiyar and set a record by shooting 1,389 arrows accurately while sitting on a horse for 3 hours at Mannivakkam Government High School near Vandalur, Chennai.

Personal Life & Career:
Muthamilselvi Narayanan hails from Johilpatti village in Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, India. She currently resides in Chennai. She holds a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) degree and a Japanese Language Proficiency Certification. She is currently involved in Japanese language training, running "Tamil Cafe" in Chennai, and participating in various events at schools, colleges, rotary clubs, and industries to promote self-identity.
