Mudiwa Hood (birth name Mudiwa Mtandwa) is a Zimbabwean Hip Hop artist.[1][2][3][4][5]

Early life

Born in 1985 in Harare at Seke Martenity Clinic, Chitungwiza, Hood is the youngest of four children. He grew up in Chitungwiza and attended his early education at Dzidzai Primary School then secondary education at Nyazura High School. He attained an MBA, BSc Honors in Economics and BSSc Psycology at Africa University.[6]

Music career

Hood started his music career in 2012. He recorded his first songs at CraigBone Studios in Chitungwiza and his breakout songs that year were Chaputika Zvinestaira, Anhu Acho Tisu and Ndaita Mari.[7][8]

In 2013, Hood signed a record deal with Demon Proof Records and left in 2015. He then launched HoodNation Records as his own label in 2016.

Personal life

Hood was married to Angelica Colchèita-Hood. They divorced in 2020. They have one child.[34] [35]

In 2019, Mudiwa Hood changed his birth record name Mudiwa Mtandwa to make his stage name Mudiwa Hood his official government record name after discovering that Mtandwa was not his original family name.
