Early life and education

Benjamin was born and raised in Mudgeeraba, on the Gold Coast, Australia, where her parents ran a local veterinary clinic. She attended All Saints Anglican School. In 2010, she graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a bachelor's degree in mass communication, public relations, and media studies.

Career

After graduation, Benjamin moved to London, where she spent six years working as a communication and marketing executive and events manager in the finance sector, including roles at Barclays, the Financial Conduct Authority, and the Bank of Queensland.[4] During this time, she noticed that many women, including her colleagues and friends, struggled with personal finance.[5][6]

In 2017, Benjamin established the Ladies Finance Club (formerly She's on the Money) in London.[7] The club started as a discussion group in her living room and has since evolved into an investment club. In 2019, she launched the club in Australia, and it has since grown to have over 35,000 women attend events, webinars, or workshops.[8]

The platform has partnered with notable companies such as Google, Pinterest, Deloitte, Audible, Fidelity International, and Vanguard.[9] The club offers monthly masterclasses on various investing topics and provides online courses on the basics of investing and personal finance management.[10][11]

Benjamin has been featured in various media outlets and publications, including ABC News, The Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald, Money Magazine, and Mamamia.[12] She is also the author of "Girls Just Wanna Have Funds," published in January 2023, which offers practical financial advice for women.[13]
