Modcon Systems Ltd. is an international multidisciplinary company that is engaged in modernization of existing and construction of new oil refineries, petrochemical plants, onshore and offshore FPSO facilities. History

Modcon Systems was founded in 1972, and headquartered in London, United Kingdom.^[4] The company is currently being helmed under the leadership of Mr. Gregory Shahnovsky, President and Chief Executive Officer. Since its inception the company has pioneered the way for the next generation of process analyzer systems for Oil Refineries, Natural Gas, Pipelines, Chemical, Petrochemical, and Biotechnology Industries.^[5]^[6]

For over 5 decades, Modcon Systems has been providing solutions powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning to generate high value by optimizing the assets from the process through real-time analytics and processing the data acquired from operations and production departments. Process analyzers

The company provides process analyzers, on-line analytical systems and all related services ranging from initial engineering to manufacturing, testing, and field start-up. The process analyzer systems are pre-installed in the special analyzer houses that include power distribution, air conditioning, termination, junction boxes, lighting, gas and flame detection, wiring, and relevant piping. The products portfolio includes crude oil, near infrared (NIR) petroleum, sulfur, water, salt and gas analyzers for on-line process monitoring and control.^[8]

Artificial intelligence

The Modcon artificial intelligence package provides a set of modern optimization tools to process engineers, which enables them to establish connectivity, validation, and prediction of the key performance indicators, which facilitates correct decision making that enables maintenance and improvement of effective industrial processes.^[9]

Advanced Blending Solutions

The refineries are competing with each other based on the strategy of blending operations being incorporated. The crude oils and other refinery products are blended to increase refining margins, without affecting their physical properties. The basic operations to achieve increased margins are to use cheaper crude oils in crude oil blends and maximize the use of low-cost intermediate refinery products.^[12]^[13]
