Mithila Rajya Nirman Sena
Mithila Rajya Nirman Sena ( Sanskrit : मिथिला राज्य निर्माण सेना ) is a social and political organization in India which demands a separate Mithila (region)|Mithila State to be established in the Mithila (region)|Mithila region of Bihar.[1][2][3] It has started a movement known as Mithila Renaissance Journey ( मिथिला पुनर्जागरण यात्रा ) to connect and reorganise the people of Mithila region in Bihar to get support for the formation of the Mithila (proposed Indian state)|proposed Mithila State in India.[4][5][6][7]
History
The organisation was formed on 14th January 2013 at Samvidhan Bhavan in New Delhi for the purpose of establishment of separate Mithila (region)|Mithila State from the Bihar state in India.[8][9] A conference meeting was organised at Shyama Residency Hotel, Darbhanga on 1st August 2016 in the presidency of Shyam Sunder Jha. In this meeting State Executive was constituted. Dr Rangnath Thakur was elected as State President of the organisation.[10] Dr. Rangnath Thakur organised Sankalp Diwas on 14th January 2017 at Karpuri Chowk in Darbhanga to accelerate the struggle for establishment of separate Mithila State.[11]
Mithila Renaissance Journey
Mithila Rajya Nirman Sena started a movement known as Mithila Renaissance Journey on 26th November 2021 in the leadership of General Secretary Rajesh Kumar Jha. The journey is divided into five phases. The aim of the journey is to connect the people of the different parts of Mithila (region)|Mithila and to propagate the concept of the demand of Mithila (proposed Indian state)|separate Mithila State. The first target of the journey is to record Maithili language|Maithili as the mother language of the people of Mithila (region)|Mithila in the upcoming population census of India.[12] The first phase of the journey started from Phulhar village of Madhubani district in Mithila.[13]. The final phase of the renaissance journey will end at Raj Maidan in Darbhanga.[14][15][16][17] The second phase of the journey started on 2nd January 2022 from the Ugratara Sthan Mandir at Mahishi in Saharsa district of Mithila (region)|Mithila region in Bihar. The major slogans of the journey are "ले जान कि दे जान" ( take life or give life ) and "जनगणना में मैथिली और संविधान में मिथिला" ( Maithili in census and Mithila in constitution ) .[18][19]
