Mindthreat are a metalcore band from Athens, Greece.[1]. They have released one studio album to-date, three EPs and several singles. The band now consists of Anton Mess on vocals, Jim Kakes on guitars, Aleister on bass, and Gus Mamalis on drums.

Background

Mindthreat were formed in Athens, March 2011 by Jim Kakes, Aleister and John Tsoutsias. Immediately after formation they recorded their first three songs which self released as an EP under the name "Amidst Your Bloodlines" in late 2011[2].

In 2012, they entered the studio to record their second EP "Where The Lights Are Dead" which was self released in June 2013[3].

In late 2014, the band started changing their music style and direction, experimenting a lot more with the contrast of melodic and aggressive sound. That pushed them to record another EP before releasing a full length album."People Are Tragedy" was released in June 2015 and the B-Side "White Colors" was released as a single the following year[4][5]. (In early 2014, it was reported by members of the band that a full length album was completely composed but was later tossed for reasons remaining unknown.)

In 2016, Mindthreat entered the studio to record their debut full length album "Black Dreams"[6][7] which showcased a complete change to their sound[8]. The album was released in May 2018 via Bleeding Nose Records[9].

In late 2018 founding member and guitarist John Tsoutsias was dismissed from the band. Following his exit, the band stated that their new musical direction was better supported as a Band (rock and pop)|four piece band[10]

In September 2019, a single titled "Crooked" was released and its corresponding music video, directed by guitarist Jim Kakes and was mixed and mastered by Evan K[11]. That was the first studio recording including Gus Mamalis on the drums as he rejoined the band after 4 years.

In June 2020, the band released a music video for single titled "Vile"[12][13][14]. It was mixed and mastered by Evan K and the video was directed by Jim Kakes.

In August 2020, a music video for latest single titled "Persona" was released[15][16]. It was mixed and mastered by Evan K and the video was directed by Jim Kakes.

Mindthreat have performed in several shows, supporting bands such as The Devil Wears Prada (band)|The Devil Wears Prada[17][18], Deez Nuts (band)|Deez Nuts[19], Oceans Ate Alaska[20][21], Comeback Kid (band)|Comeback Kid, Whitechapel (band)|Whitechapel[22] and performed at several European festivals such as Wacken Open Air[23][24][25][26], Rockstadt Extremefest[27][28], Carpathian Alliance[29][30], etc.
