Megna Mukherjee (born 18th November 1999), is an Indian actress and model. She is best known for her works with brands like Titan, Streax, Pantaloons, HP Inc. and L'Oréal.
Megna Mukherjee is also a trained dancer in Jazz.
Early Life and Education
Megna Mukherjee was born on 18th November 1999 in Kolkata, to Mrinmoy and Moonmoon Mukherjee. Mrinmoy Mukherjee is the Director and CEO at SRT Sports Management Pvt. Ltd., while Moonmoon Mukherjee is an international table tennis player and coach who has also played in the commonwealth games.[1]
In the year 1999, the Mukherjee family moved to Mumbai. Moonmoon Mukherjee always encouraged young Megna to dance and participate in extra-curricular activities. When Megna was five, her mother enrolled her under the tutelage of Shiamak Davar and encouraged her to try out various dance forms such as hip-hop and Bharatanatyam. By the age of seven, Mukherjee realized her knack for jazz and started training for the same. Currently, she is training with Dimple Kotecha, who is a celebrity dance coach and also a choreographer.[2]
Just like many other, Mukherjee loved the Shah Rukh Khan of Bollywood. She was twelve when she watched Om Shanti Om and fell in love with Deepika Padukone's charm. That was when she felt the desire to get on the big picture. Her parents, although skeptical about her acting career, supported Megna a lot through all the highs and lows.[3]
Mukherjee attended the Hiranandani Foundation School, Mumbai for her secondary studies while pursuing arts from Jamnabai Narsee School. Throughout her growing years, she liked to play table tennis and continued to play it as a hobby. During her time in St. Andrews, where she completed her Bachelors in Mass Media (BMM), Mukherjee also participated in a few table-tennis tournaments and bagged a few victories. She has also participated in one of the state-level table-tennis championships.
In 2019, Mukherjee participated in the Times Fresh Face competition, judged by Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sanya Malhotra. She entered the national finale where twenty college students from across India were short-listed from various colleges for a talent hunt. Mukherjee won the competition with her acting and monologue being appreciated by everyone. She mentions this being one of her most wonderful experiences in any competition.
One of Megna Mukherjee's hobbies is that she loves reading. Out of the many books she has read, one quote from one of the books that stood out for her was; "Hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard enough", by Kevin Durant and she tries to love by those words.
Megna is now representing West Bengal in the Miss India 2022.[4]
Works
Mukherjee joined the Toabh Talent Management agency when she was eighteen. Later she switched to Times Talent from where she gets all her current works.
She is known for her featured works with prominent brands such as Titan, Streax, Hero, Pantaloons, HP, and L'Oreal.
