Marvin Matyka (born June 26, 1997) is a German producer, soundtrack creator, and music editor.[1] He is known for his work on notable projects such as Let It Snow (2019), Selena Gomez: Only You (2017), and Five Feet Apart (2019). Matyka has established a diverse career in the entertainment industry, contributing to both film and television.[2]
Early life and education
Matyka was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. He completed his secondary education in 2016 and went on to study at the University of Hamburg, where he honed his skills in film production and editing. After finishing his studies, he interned at an industrial management company. Since 2018, he has been associated with Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment.[3]
Career
Matyka began his career by creating soundtrack videos on YouTube, which gained him initial recognition. His breakthrough came with his work on the soundtrack for 13 Reasons Why, a production by Paramount Television, in 2017. Other notable works include as an assistant editor and trailer producer for Riverdale (2017), a popular teen drama series. Matyka worked as a music and soundtrack producer for Five Feet Apart (2019), a romantic drama film about two teenagers with cystic fibrosis. He held the position of music director for this Netflix holiday film, Let It Snow (2019). Matyka worked as a trailer producer for the final season of Game of Thrones (2017). He served as the art director for the music video, Lovely (2018), featuring Billie Eilish and Khalid, which received widespread acclaim.
Matyka was involved as an assistant editor on Riverdale from 2021 to 2023 and edited trailers for Birds of Prey (2020). He also worked as an art director for the animated series Gummibär & Friends: The Gummy Bear Show in 2019. Over the years, Matyka has established himself as an influential figure in contemporary film and television production.[4]
