Marshall Sandman is an American venture capitalist and social media personality. He is the host of an Instagram live show called What to Do with Marshall and the founder of Animal Capital, a venture capital firm.
Education and career
Sandman is from Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended Ravenscroft School[1] and graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.[2]
Sandman started his career as an investment banker for Goldman Sachs and later worked as a strategy, venture and business development executive with WarnerMedia. He has also worked as an investment banker with Jordan Edmiston Group.[2]
Sandman pursues entrepreneurship through his Instagram show called What to Do with Marshall (earlier known as Spilling the Quarantea). On the show, he interviews celebrities and influencers, including Jerry Ferrara, Carl Radke, Jake Cohen, Sumire Matsubara and Vaughn Vreeland. The show is in partnership with Talenti Gelato, and all of the proceeds from the show go towards helping at risk kids in New York City through a nonprofit organization called Harlem Grown. As of December 2020, he has raised approximately $50,000 through the show.
In April 2021, Sandman launched a $15 million venture capital firm called Animal Capital with social media personalities Josh Richards, Griffin Johnson and Noah Beck. The firm will provide capital to early-stage startups in the consumer, fintech, health and media sectors.[3][4][5][6]
