Mark Wiens is an American YouTube travel and food Vlogger, restaurateur, and author based in Bangkok, Thailand.[1] He is married.[2] He has millions of subscribers.[3][4] He opened a restaurant in Bangkok called Phed Mark.[5][6]
Biography
Wiens was born in Phoenix, Arizona the son of Christian missionaries.[7] The family lived in France, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Nairobi, Kenya.[8][7] After high school, he attended Arizona State University, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies. After graduation, Wiens traveled through South America, eventually teaching English in the mountains of Patagonia[9].
In 2009, Wiens started Migrationology.com[9] and after three years, published his first eBook, the Eating Thai Food Guide, and began blogging full-time job. Wiens has created travel and food videos from over a dozen countries and has two other channels, "Mark Abroad" and "Big on Spice". He has been featured as a Thai food expert by New York Magazine,[10] CNN,[11] and Andrew Zimmern.[12] He resides in Thailand.[13]

In 2019, Wiens, along with Khun Tan (Thai food blogger), Khun Pongthep (designer and actor), Chef Gigg (Chef and Thai Iron Chef Champion) opened a restaurant, เผ็ดมาร์ค (Phed Mark), in Bangkok[14], specializing in ผัดกะเพรา (pad kaprao)[15]
Travels
In 2021 he visited Shady Maple Smorgasbord, a buffet, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.[2] In 2022 he visited Trinidad and Tobago.[16]
