Mark Andrew Shipman is an author, investor and former money manager, and a trader on the financial markets.[1]

He was born on 16th September 1962 in Crayford, Kent, England. He left school at 16 and joined the ranks of the unemployed in the early 1980’s. He eventually secured a job in the post room of an Australian Bank in London.[2][1]

He has worked in the financial industry since 1979, initially for international investment banks in the City of London before leaving in 1990 to establish his own asset management business, ’Silver Knight Investment Management’, one of the UK’s first ever hedge funds.[3]

In 1991 Shipman won the World Professional Futures Trading Championship.[4][5]

Shipman retired from fund management to concentrate on managing his own money and continues to personally participate in long-term investment trends, He consults to a select group of City institutions and high net-worth investors; is a key-note conference speaker; and has written numerous newspaper and magazine articles.

He has been a regular commentator on CBNC, ‘The Late Late Show’ RTE Ireland, Sky News, IG Index and The Financial Times. IG Group is a trading name of IG Markets Ltd and IG Index Ltd.

Shipman is also Chairman of Project Wealth Group Limited.[6][7][8][9]

Shipman is the author of three international bestsellers, which have been translated into several foreign languages: “The Next Big Investment Boom” (published by Kogan Page in 2006), “Big Money Little Effort" (published by Kogan Page in 2008) and “EQ vs. IQ” (published by Amazon Books in 2014), Hedge Fund Manager Secrets (published by ProjectWealthGroup.com 2018).[10][11][12] [13][14][15][16][17][18][19]
