Early life and education

Born on September 2, 1974, in Nuevo León, Mexico, MACS had the privilege of growing up in an artistic family. Her father, an international concert guitarist, and engineer, and her mother, a housewife, fostered a creative environment for their two daughters. Bedtime stories filled with wonder and enchantment nurtured MACS's imaginative mind. This exposure to the world of imagination fueled her creativity and fostered a belief in the magic of art. MACS pursued various artistic disciplines, including painting, ballet, and piano lessons, which helped further develop her artistic sensibilities.

MACS pursued her higher education at Tecnológico de Monterrey and Instituto Italolatinoamericano, where she honed her skills and expanded her artistic horizons. From 1995 to 1997, she delved into the world of jewelry design at Centro Platero de Zacatecas, undertaking courses led by esteemed jewelry masters like Don Alfonso Soto Soria from Tane and Enzo Silvestrin from Tiffany. These experiences exposed MACS to invaluable knowledge and techniques, shaping her artistic journey.

Career

In 1996, MACS established Arteza Silver and Design. In this creative space, she poured her artistic vision into crafting unique and captivating jewelry pieces.[2]

Motivated by an insatiable desire for artistic discovery, MACS actively pursued apprenticeships in multiple studios, immersing herself in an array of techniques and disciplines. This ultimately guided her toward the captivating realm of sculpture, where she found her true artistic calling.[3]

MACS's artistic endeavors are driven by a deep personal interest in creating fantastical imagery that transcends the boundaries of her imagination and resonates within the psyche of the viewers. Through her sculptural works, she skillfully brings forth collective representations, evoking an ambiance of fantasy and allure. Acting as portals, her sculptures provide solace and sanctuary for those irresistibly captivated by their enthralling essence.[4]

In the year 2010, MACS founded Macs_Artist, a creative enterprise dedicated to the realm of artistic sculpture, design, and the meticulous execution of trophies and awards for esteemed companies and sports clubs. Within her studio, MACS and her team craft custom sculptures using a diverse range of materials, showcasing their versatility and expertise in bringing unique artistic visions to life.

MACS has been honored with the opportunity to showcase her artistic creations at esteemed venues such as the Senado de la República, where her works were displayed as part of the "Zacatecas Land of Artists" exhibition, and at the Felguérez Museum, within the context of the "Reinventions" exhibition. Currently, her works are displayed in prominent art galleries, namely Galería Corsica and Pablo Márquez Gallery.

MACS's active participation in various exhibitions and the opportunities that have come her way as a Mexican female artist has had a profound and lasting impact. She remains acutely aware of the influence her artistic endeavors can exert and therefore, actively seeks involvement in exhibitions that possess the power to resonate deeply with viewers. Through her creative endeavors, MACS has successfully showcased the transformative power of Mexican artists, especially women artists, as their works transcend geographical boundaries and enthrall uncharted territories, defying conventional limitations.

Notable sculptures

Some of her most renowned artworks include sculptures titled "Always in Motion," "Impulse," and "Equilibrium." Impulse and Equilibrium symbolize the harmony between the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of being, and the interconnectedness of the present, past, and future. This captivating piece magnifies the energy of its possessor, making it a powerful and transformative creation. "Always in Motion" depicts a pair of feet on top of a globe, symbolizing the perpetual movement and constant change in life.

Another of her works, titled "Time," is a remarkable creation that consists of a key, a watch, a heart, and a rabbit. The concept behind "Time" originates from the desire to encapsulate deep-seated emotions and sentiments, ones that gather and yearn for release. It serves as an expressive outlet, allowing these feelings to find a path of expression and exploration. All pieces are series of 10, a limited edition with 10 bronze and 10 resin.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, MACS is deeply committed to giving back to society. She donates a portion of her work to educational non-profit organizations, recognizing the importance of education as the foundation for a better world.
