Malcolm Onsando

Malcolm Mamboleo Onsando born September 26th 1994 in Nairobi, Kenya; is a Kenyan professional Rugby player currently playing for CS Dinamo București (rugby union) in SuperLiga (rugby union) [1]. He is An International Player having earned his first cap for the Kenya national rugby union team|Kenya rugby 15's side in 2018.[2][1]Onsando's preferred position is Lock.[3][4]

Early Life He is the son of former rugby player and past head coach of Kenya sevens, Uganda national rugby union team and Elgon Warrior's select team Ham Onsando[5]and Nephew to former Kenya XV player Jesse Onsando. Raised in a Sporting family, Onsando attendied St. Mary's School, Nairobi|St Mary's school Nairobi a well established rugby school in Kenya for his primary and secondary school education. After graduating from his IGSCE standard level examinations, Onsando was awarded a Sporting Scholarship and attended Culford School|Culford school for his Lower and upper 6th level schooling. As a sporting scholar he played lock and eighth man for the 1st XV side ,vice Captaining them in his Senior year[6]. Onsando was recruited to play county representative rugby at both U18 and U20 level for Eastern Counties Rugby Union|Eastern counties rugby union, he was part of the National Shield championship winning side of 2013.[7][8]

University and Club rugby A Kenya Cup winner at the early age of 17yr 6mo's, Onsando became the youngest ever 1st XV Capped player for his home Club Kenya Harlequin F.C.|Kenya Harlequins going on to be part of the succesfull Kenya Cup|Kenya cup wining side in 2012.

In 2015 and 2016 Onsando featured in University of Plymouth 1st Xv team playing a part in the Annual Varisty Match against Plymouth Marjon University .

In 2016 Onsando Joined Brixham Rugby Club, and was a part of the Devon RFU Senior Cup winning side in 2017.[9] He played 2 seasons with the club before returning to Kenya having Graduated from University in 2017 with Bsc International Hospitality Management. [10]

Onsando scored his first international try against Namibia in the 2018 Rugby Africa gold cup.[14][4][8][15]

Onsando was part of the first Kenya XV side to qualify to play in the 2018 [16] World Rugby|World rugby repecharge tournament [13]hosted in Marsellies, france.[17] This was Kenya XV first recorded outing in europe facing Canada national rugby union team|Canada, Hong Kong national rugby union team|Hong Kong and Germany national rugby union team|Germany .[18][19][20][21]

2020 - present Onsando Currently plays for CS Dinamo București (rugby union)|CS Dinamo București in Bucharest Romania[22].[23][24]
