Madison McKinley (born Madison Garton; March 13, 1986) is an American actress and producer. She is known for appearances in films including The Wolf of Wall Street and Molly's Game, and television series including Orange Is the New Black, Vinyl, The Good Wife, Person of Interest, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.[1][2]

McKinley has also worked as a producer. In 2025, she appeared in and served as an executive producer of the independent film By Design.[3][4]

Early life

McKinley was born Madison Garton in Vail, Colorado.[1][3] She was raised in Vail and began modeling at the age of 16.[4]

Before focusing on acting, McKinley worked as a model. According to the official press notes for By Design, her modeling work preceded her transition into acting after an appearance on the television series 30 Rock.[4]

Career

Early television work

McKinley began appearing on television during the late 2000s. Her early credits included 30 Rock, Flight of the Conchords, Kings, Rescue Me, and Michael & Michael Have Issues.[5]

She later appeared in White Collar, Damages, The Good Wife, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Person of Interest.[5]

The Bachelor

In 2011, McKinley appeared under her birth name, Madison Garton, as a contestant on the fifteenth season of the ABC reality television series The Bachelor, which featured Brad Womack.[6]

During her introduction on the program, she attracted attention for wearing artificial vampire fangs. She later voluntarily left the competition during a rose ceremony.[6]

Film career

McKinley appeared in the film The Smurfs in 2011.[5]

In 2013, she appeared as Heidi in Martin Scorsese's film The Wolf of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, and Margot Robbie. She was credited in the film as Madison McKinley Garton.[2]

She later appeared in the 2014 film The Other Woman and in independent productions including Kensho at the Bedfellow, Palm Swings, Realms, American Fright Fest, Purge of Kingdoms, Murder at the Mansion, and Hashtag Proposal.[5][3]

Molly's Game

In 2017, McKinley appeared as Shelby in Molly's Game, written and directed by Aaron Sorkin.[2]

The film, based on Molly Bloom's memoir, starred Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, Kevin Costner, Michael Cera, and Jeremy Strong. McKinley's role formed part of the supporting cast surrounding the high-stakes poker games depicted in the film.

Television appearances

McKinley continued appearing in television productions during the 2010s. In 2015, she portrayed Rachel in an episode of the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black.[2]

In 2016, she appeared as Nicole in the HBO drama series Vinyl.[2]

Her other television credits include Power, Flaked, Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television, and Tyler Perry's Sistas.[5]

Producing career

McKinley later expanded her career into film production. According to the press notes for By Design, she began focusing more extensively on producing during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she spent time living in Mexico.[4]

Her early producing work included the short film Itsy Bitsy.[4]

McKinley subsequently worked as an executive producer on By Design, directed by Amanda Kramer. She also appeared in the film as Sarah the Stockist.[3][4]

The film stars Juliette Lewis, Mamoudou Athie, Samantha Mathis, Robin Tunney, Clifton Collins Jr., Betty Buckley, Melanie Griffith, and Udo Kier.[4]

By Design was selected for the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. McKinley was credited as one of the film's executive producers.[4]

Other activities

McKinley has expressed an interest in producing projects centered on unconventional stories and underrepresented communities.[4]

She has supported Point of Pride, a nonprofit organization that provides support and healthcare-related assistance to transgender people.[4]

Outside of her work in entertainment, McKinley has participated in skiing, snowboarding, and scuba diving.[4]
