Maceo Sesame Jack Frost, commonly known as Maceo Frost is a Swedish / American filmmaker whose work includes Documentary film, music videos and commercials. He is son to Damon Frost[1],a well known Popping in Sweden..[2]
Maceo has been known for his films such as Raised by Krump[3][4], Too Beautiful[5][6], Live to Sea[7][8] in the Swedish parts and has had his films featured by HBO[9] and National Geographic. His commercial projects include work for NETFLIX, IKEA, BMW, YouTube,other brands and for YouTube featuring Grammy winning african artist, Burna Boy. His works were shown at international festivals such as, SXSW, IDFA, Sheffield doc fest.His film raised by krump was filmed in South Central Los Angeles and Compton.
Awards
At 19, Maceo was nominated for a Swedish Grammy award, Some in Sweden. And was nominated for director of the year at Roygalan 2018[10].
He won an CLIO in 2018[11] for his work on a documentary film for the african artist Burna Boy[12][13][14]. He won a young guns award for best creative under 30 in 2017 one club for creativity[15][16]. His commercial, “What if”[17] for IKEA has won gold at the shots awards for “Online Commercial of the Year over two minutes”[18][19].
