MIT World Peace Institution, often known as MIT-WPU, is a state-funded, privately-operated university that was designated as a university in the Indian city of Pune. It is one of the institutions that makes up the MIT Group of Institutions.

Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University is the official name of this institution. It was recognised by the University Grants Commission after being founded by the Government of Maharashtra Act No. XXXV 2017, which was passed in 2017.

Maharashtra Institute of Technology used to be the name of the set of institutions that make up what is currently known as MIT World Peace University. The Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) was one of the first private engineering schools in the state of Maharashtra when it opened its doors in 1983. It was also the first college to be a part of the MAEER's family of educational institutions. Under the direction of Dr. Vishwanath Karad, MAEER transitioned from being associated with Savitribai Phule Pune Institution (SPPU) to operating as a standalone private university known as the MIT Art Design Technology University.

There are three Bachelor of Business Administration degrees available to students at World Peace University: BBA, BBA-IB, and BBA-CA. Courses often also offer dual specialisations, such as Corporate Social Responsibility, Sports Management, Travel and Tourism, and Entrepreneurship.
