M13 Investments (Founded 2016, Santa Monica, California) is an American venture capital firm.[1][2] It is most notable for being early investors in Daily Harvest, Thrive Market, Rothy's, Ring (company), Cabify, Bonobos (apparel), ClassPass, Scopely, Cue and Bird (company).[3][4] It is also well known for having high-profile investors such Richard Branson, Tony Robbins, and Arianna Huffington.[5][6]
The firm is focused on Seed money and Series A round Series B+ rounds in emerging consumer technology companies.[7][8]
M13 has an estimated portfolio worth over $137 Billion (valuation as of 2021) and 100+ tech investments.[9] It was founded by brothers Carter Milliken Reum and Courtney Reum. Carter Reum is also known for his relationship with Paris Hilton.[10]
History
Carter Milliken Reum and Courtney Reum (both graduates of Harvard Business School and Columbia University in 2003) started the consumer tech venture capital firm in 2016 after a brief time as investment bankers at Goldman Sachs. The firm is named for the star cluster Messier 13.
M13 also has an in-house incubation studio called Launchpad, a virtual program designed to guide startups from concept ideation to market validation.[11] The effort includes Corporate sponsorship like Procter & Gamble and PepsiCo.[12]
