Funding criteria

Cultural organizations seeking participation and funding through the program must meet specific criteria to qualify for the program, including being a registered charity or qualified donee as per the Income Tax Act of Canada.[7] Additionally, the cultural organization must be eligible for matching grants from the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications Québec and the Canada Cultural Investment Fund.[8]

Cultural music video channel

Mécénat Musica hosts a cultural music video channel called Mécénat Musica Videoclips. The channel features original cultural music videos that convey a sense of culture and assist artists by producing, distributing, and marketing cultural music videos. Funding mechanisms

Mécénat Musica provides four funding mechanisms to generate in-perpetuity capital for the future of arts and culture in Quebec:

  • Mécénat Musica Condos for Culture©: Encourages hassle-free donation of personal-use real estates, such as condos or houses, to support cultural organizations.
  • Mécénat Musica Donation of Public Company Shares: Encourages donations of public company shares, with a $25,000 donation having a potential net cost as low as $7,521.
