Luke Cissell (born February 2, 1980 Louisville, Kentucky, USA) is an American composer and multi-instrumentalist known for making music that transcends contemporary notions of genre and has been variously categorized as contemporary classical, bluegrass, jazz, folk, post-rock, and art pop.[1][2] Cissell was a champion fiddler and classical violinist in his youth, earned a degree in history from Princeton University, and has worked as a producer, arranger, and session musician with a broad range, with credits on albums by artists such as singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson, composer Philip Glass, and rapper Alex Wiley.[3][4] Known for performing every part on his studio album releases, Cissell has written extensively for strings.[5][6]
