Luíza Ribeiro de Fazio is a Brazilian screenwriter, author and translator. She is known for her work in TV shows such as Sintonia, Verdict, and the second season of Invisible City (TV series)[1].
Career
Fazio began her career in the field of TV and film as a production assistant in the Los Angeles area, working in shows such as the Netflix original docuseries Chef's Table and Toxic Guanabara[1].
Once she returned to Brazil, she continued to work for media outlets such as Vice Media[2], and moving on to work as a writer's assistant and script coordinator in shows such as Netflix Brazil's comedy series Samantha![3][4], and the first season of Sintonia. The latter peaked at number three in the local top 10 titles in the platform for 2019[5][4].
In 2019, she joined the writing team for the Amazon Prime Video Brazilian original Veredict. In 2020, Luíza was one of the lead writers for the Waner Channel comedy series Carenteners, which was produced during the COVID-19 lockdown in Brazil. Also in 2020, Fazio returned to documentaries with Lexa: Mostra esse Poder, about Funk carioca (singer) for streamer Globoplay[1][4][6].
In 2021, Fazio returned to Sintonia[7] [8][4]as a writer for the series' second season[9]. Soon after, she wrote for the second season of Invisible City (TV series)|Invisible City, created by Oscar-nominated Brazilian director Carlos Saldanha[10]
Education
Born in Santos, São Paulo, in the state of São Paulo[11][12], Fazio graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Cásper Líbero College in the city of São Paulo in the class of 2014[2].
In 2015, she moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a professional program in writing for television at University of California, Los Angeles|UCLA[6][2].
In 2022, Fazio was invited by the U.S. Embassy in Brazil to attend the International Writers Program at the University of Iowa[13][12]. During that period, she attended an international writers conference held by PEN America at the UN Offices in New York City[14]
