Devarius Desmond McKinney[1] (born August 10, 1996), better known as LookImHD (Or Simply “HD”), is an American video director, screenwriter, and CEO of #StayOnGrindTV.

Early Life

McKinney was born in Chicago, Illinois. McKinney and his family relocated from Chicago to Atlanta in August 2009. McKinney attended a high school by the name of Benjamin Banneker High School but dropped out his Junior year. McKinney began taking his career seriously after becoming a father of twins at 18. Throughout his childhood, McKinney grew up on the Southside of Chicago. He is the youngest of 4 siblings. His mother , Latonia Barber is a Christian and his father was a member of Nation of Islam but later converted to a sunni Muslim once McKinney was born. McKinney originally founded #StayOnGrindTV as an internet blog when he was a high school student in Atlanta, Ga. He soon began directing music videos for local Atlanta rappers, including BFG Apollo, Scalebreaker Blo and NoGoodHood, which he uploaded to his YouTube channel. In early 2016, he gained initial recognition working with YFN Lucci on the video for his 2016 Single “YFN”[2][3]. Mckinney released a “BehindTheScenes” Of the video on his YouTube channel which features artist such as Trouble (rapper), Rich Homie Quan, Block 125, Kap G, Grand Hustle Records (Y6) (Known as Yung Booke) And many more. in February 2016, McKinney announced on Instagram that he is going to be releasing his first short film, "The Plug" but due to legal issues the film was never released.[4] In May 2016, he directed the music video for Trouble (rapper) & ReeseDaGreat single, “Like a”, Which was filmed in Charlotte, North Carolina and has guest cameos from Boosie badazz, Veli Sosa and Big Bank Black.

Legal Issues

On May 11, 2016, The Atlanta Police Department arrested McKinney in connection with the murder of a 20 Year old man, Muhammad Saheed. McKinney was found guilty of Voluntary Manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years. McKinney is set to be released May 2036. McKinney is currently awaiting an appeal.[5]

McKinney has said that his career is heavily influenced by Gabriel Hart, Spike Lee, Karena Evans, Tyler Perry, The Hughes Brother, Benny Boom.
