London Politica is an international, pro bono, political risk advisory run by students and recent graduates across 25 countries.[1][2] It was founded in 2020 by Manas Chawla and was formed out of the Political Risk and Investment Society (PRIS) based at the London School of Economics (LSE).[3] It was shortly after made independent of LSE and launched globally.[4] London Politica now has 211 active employees, based around the globe and split across three departments; Research, Business Development, and Communications.[5] There are currently 13 Executive board members, each with leadership responsibilities in one area of operations or more.[6]

History

As a political risk advisory London Politica provides intelligence, analysis, and advice to businesses and institutions globally on how political decisions, events, or conditions might affect their profitably, security, or operations.[7][8] According to its CEO, the firm also hopes to help democratise the political risk space by orientating its services primarily towards NGOs and charitable organisations who often lack political risk coverage due to its high cost, despite typically operating in politically tense or unstable zones.[9]

In June 2021, London Politica entered into a research partnership with Arielle for Africa, an NGO specialising in social enterprise for African youth.[10] It has also worked in partnership with Global Citizen (organization)|Global Citizen, Confederation of Indian Industry, HumanAid,[11] and Pakistan Britain Business Council.[12]

London Politica also produces a range of public facing content. This includes the ‘London Politica Podcast’, which covers emerging and prominent trends in political risk analysis, exploring developments in international relations, business, civic, and governmental arenas.[13] The Podcast has featured Parag Khanna, Kerry Brown (historian)|Dr Kerry Brown, Richard Schmierer, and John Hulsman|Dr John Hulsman.[14]

Members of London Politica have been quoted for their opinions by media outlets such as Voice of America[15] and interviewed by Dr. Christopher McKee, CEO, The PRS Group.[16]
