LoadUp Technologies is a nationwide American residential and commercial junk removal company headquartered in Atlanta, GA. The company’s mission is to “provide exceptional service with honesty and transparency” in the waste management and junk removal sector.

LoadUp is a tech-savvy company that uses proprietary technology to power their business, including an online booking system that provides free quotes to customers as well as a Driver app that allows independent contractors to view, accept, and complete junk removal jobs.[1]

History

LoadUp started in Georgia in 2014. The original headquarters was located in Marietta, Georgia but moved to Atlanta in the summer of 2018. The company provides junk removal services in 48 states,[2] and offers roll-off dumpster rental services in the Atlanta region.[3]

The Founder and CEO is Greg Workmon.[4]

After having a bad experience after responding to a radio commercial promising streamlined junk removal services for less, Greg believed there had to be a better, more customer-friendly way of doing business that didn't involve high pressure negotiating tactics and could help customers know exactly what prices to expect before the onsite visit occurs.[5]

Operations

LoadUp is the first and only company in the junk removal and waste management industry to use crowdsourcing technology to recruit independent licensed junk removal contractors across the United States.[6]

LoadUp disrupted the big junk removal industry by offering upfront pricing to customers without the need for an on-site estimate[7] through its online booking system. The company prices its services on an item-by-item basis.[8]

LoadUp’s business model includes seeking out and utilizing sustainable and eco-friendly disposal alternatives through recycling and donating salvageable items to local and national charities. In 2018, the company reported that it had diverted 2.5 million pounds of junk from landfills by way of recycling.[9]

In response to COVID-19, LoadUp encourage customers to choose outdoor pickup services to reduce face-to-face contact between customers and drivers but continued to provide safe, no-contact in-home services to those requiring it. Furthermore, the company encourages its employees to carry and wear gloves and masks to every job.[10]

In the Media

LoadUp is a certified Great Place to Work®.[11]

In 2019, LoadUp made the Inc. (magazine) Inc. 5000 List[12], ranking #118 with a 2939% growth rate from 2016 - 2019.[13]

In 2020, LoadUp ranked #838 on the Inc.5000 with a 570% growth rate from 2017 - 2020.[14]
