Lipi Singh is a 2016 batch Indian Police service (IPS) officer of Bihar cadre. She is the currently Superintendent of police (India) to Government of Bihar. She is currently serving in Saharsa District of Bihar .[1][2][3]
Personal life
Born and raised in Nalanda District in Bihar. She is the daughter of Ramchandra Prasad Singh, Union Minister for Steel, Govt of India. She is married to Suharsha Bhagat, an IAS officer of Bihar cadre.
Education
Lipi Singh is Undergraduate education in History from Lady Shri Ram College. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.
Career
During her posting as Additional Superintendent of Police Barh in Patna district, Lipi Singh took action against many hard core criminals and more than 850 criminals were arrested during her tenure[4].
She became popular after her actions taken as a police officer against the Independent Member of the Legislative Assembly Anant Kumar Singh [5]following the recovery of rifles, cartridges and bombs from his ancestral house.[6][7] She took action against criminals acted against Liquor Mafia and Sand Mafia .[8] [9]She had arrested one Mukhiya in Ghoswari Police station area who was involved in making illegal liquor and he used to give patronage to the illegal liquor traders. She has taken hard steps and conducted more than twenty raids against Sand Mafia from Bakhtiyarpur Junction railway station to Mokama. [10]More than hundred vehicles ware seized in a single day in Hathidah Junction railway station. Sand Mafia used to conduct illegal sand Mining in Ganga river and being ASP Barh.[11]
Later she was posted as Superintendent of Police Munger district. During her posting as SP Munger she acted against illegal arms manufacturers and many illegal arms factories where raided during her tenure. From Munger Diyara to hard naxal areas of Munger were on the priority list and she had taken again action against arms smuggling.
On 25th November Saharsa police arrested 5 criminals after an encounter in town area. She was the first senior officer to reach the spot after the encounter took place[12]
