Linda Coogan Byrne is a highly accomplished Irish music consultant, publicist, artist, writer, DEI trainer, podcast host, and culture change expert.[1] With over two decades of experience in the music industry, Linda has worked with global music icons, independent labels, and emerging domestic Irish and international acts.[2][3][4]

She is the founder and CEO of award-winning PR and marketing company Good Seed PR, the managing director of culture change company Why Not Her?, which focuses on promoting gender diversity and equality, and the host of the podcast series "Wht Not Her?"[5][6]

Linda is also an activist and campaigner for diversity and inclusion on the airwaves for women and acts of diversity in the music industry. She has been recognized for her contributions to these fields and has been named one of the Top 100 Women in Leadership in Ireland and one of the Top 20 Women in Ireland within Leadership.[7][8]

She has been featured in various high-end media publications and magazines, such as Irish Tatler, The Sunday Times, Music Week, The Guardian,[9][10][11] and Daily Mirror.[12]

Career

In 2008, Coogan Byrne established Good Seed PR & Marketing, which is one of Ireland’s most renowned music PR companies in the entertainment and events sectors.[13] She firmly believes in productivity and results-driven campaigns, and as the director and owner of the company, Coogan Byrne coordinates all campaigns with artists, bands, labels, and management.[14] The company has a proven track record of securing placements for clients on top-rated TV and radio shows and in national and regional publications, having represented notable record labels such as Sony, Cooking Vinyl Records, V2 Records, Warner Studios, Universal Music, Lojinx, and many others.[15] She has represented numerous artists, including REM, Alison Moyet, Groove Armada, Underworld, Robyn & Röyksopp, Peter, Bjorn & John, and Counting Crows, among others.[16]

In addition to her work at Good Seed PR & Marketing, Coogan Byrne also served as the label manager for Cooking Vinyl & Essential Music and Marketing, and as the Irish Imprint for Pure Sync Inc.[17] She currently holds the position of board member at the Arts Council of Ireland since March 2022.[18]

Coogan Byrne is a strong advocate for gender and diversity equality in the music industry and has published gender data reports on broadcasting in radio within the music industry,[19] which have garnered over 220 million views in the last three years. She is the founder and CEO of the culture change company Why Not Her? which she established in 2020. She launched a podcast series called the Why Not Her? Podcast in 2021, which amplifies the voices of women across a range of industries, specifically; activists, trailblazers, and culture changers.[20]

Coogan Byrne freelances as a writer for various print and online publications.[21] She is also a speaker, lecturer and panelist and has appeared on several notable organizations and events, such as IMPALA, BBC The Biggest Weekend Festival, Hotpress MixSix, OutPut, Trinity College, Dublin City University, MUTEK Barcelona, Women’sWork and Belfast Metropolitan College among several others.[22]

In addition to her work as a music consultant, publicist, and gender equality activist, Coogan Byrne is a qualified nutritional therapist and has an interest in NLP, psychology, and advanced anatomy and physiology.[23]
