Lina Abu Rezeq (Arabic: لينا ابو رزق, born May 5, 1983) is a Jordanian Russian producer, director, writer, actress, radio and television host, and YouTube personality.[1] She gained recognition as the first female content creator and YouTuber in Jordan.[2][3]

Early life and education

Lina Abu Rezeq obtained a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a major in music, specializing in piano, and a minor in flute from Yarmouk University (YU) in Jordan.[4]

Career

Abu Rezeq began her career as a radio host for several local Jordanian stations, including Farah Al Nas radio 98.5 FM and Ayyam FM.[5] [6]She also pursued her passion for music by working on personal projects involving composing, writing, singing, and teaching music privately. In 2012, she transitioned to in-field TV presenting, appearing on the program Transit broadcasted on TV Jordan.[7]

In 2013, Abu Rezeq launched her own YouTube channel.[8][9]

Lina Abu Rezeq gained recognition as an actress through her involvement in the TV series Asfoureyyeh (The Nuthouse), appearing in its first season in 2015 and its second season in 2017 on Ro'ya TV.[10] Directed by Ahmad Alyaseer,[11] Asfoureyyeh was highly acclaimed as the first Jordanian sitcom.[12]

Her versatility and talent led her to be described as a multi-talented actress in an interview on Alordonalyoom TV.[13] In 2018, she hosted the program Karasi on Alordonalyoom TV.[14]

Abu Rezeq worked as a freelancer in the filmmaking industry, participating in various local and international projects, including television series, movies, and short films, such as in Latt Wa Ajen (2017),[15] Weapon Without Murder (2019).[16] Touchline (2022),[17] Talal Street (2023).[18]

In 2020, Abu Rezeq established her own production company, Filmmingo Productions.[19] Through this company, she produced numerous local and international projects, including the fourth season of the reality show Asia Express Sezonul 4, which aired on Antena1 in Romania.[20]

In late 2022, Abu Rezeq wrote and directed her first TV series, titled Hara United.[21][22] The series is funded by the US Embassy in Jordan through Search for Common Ground. It gained significant popularity after the first episode was released on YouTube, showcased her storytelling abilities and marked another milestone in her career.[23]
