Dr. Leslie Myatt, Ph.D., Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (born January 21, 1951) is a British/American professor, researcher and scientist. He lives in Portland, Oregon and works at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), as Professor of Perinatal Research[1] in the OB/GYN department.

Myatt is a Subject-matter expert in how placental growth affects fetal development. His research specifically focuses on placental changes that occur in the presence of gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, maternal obesity and other adverse conditions, and how those changes influence the development of disease in the offspring's adult life[2]. He is Principal Investigator for the Global Pregnancy Collaboration (CoLab)[3] and a 2013 Fellow Ad eundem degree|ad eundem of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG)[4].

Current research (2022) Maternal–fetal medicine: Myatt studies the role of the placenta in Pre-eclampsia, preterm birth and gestational diabetes, including blood flow on the fetal side of the placenta, and the role of obesity, inflammation and free radicals in placental function. He also investigates fetal programming and the regulation of prostaglandin synthesis and action in the intrauterine tissues at birth.

Developmental Origins of Health and Disease: Myatt currently works with Kent L. Thornburg|Kent Thornburg, Ph.D. as Co-chair of the Placental Origins of Disease collaborative research team[5], in the OHSU Center for Developmental Health.

1979: Doctorate of Philosophy in Biochemistry (Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, University of London)

1984-1985: Fulbright Fellow, University of Louisville, Kentucky[6]

2013: Fellow Ad eundem degree|ad eundem of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG)[4].

Current academic positions Professor in the Perinatology division of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at OHSU School of Medicine[7]

Deputy Director and Endowed Professor in the Moore Institute for Nutrition & Wellness[8].

Co-chair of the Placental Origins of Disease Group in the Center for Developmental Health, Knight Cardiovascular Institute at OHSU[9]
