Laurie Robinson-Haden (b. December 14, 1972, Washington, D.C.) is an American activist credited with creating the Corporate Counsel Women of Color[1][2] and Corporate Counsel Men of Color,[3] which provides a diversity and inclusion support network[4] to professional attorneys of color.[5] She is also the author of the Perspectives of Women of Color in Corporate Legal Departments [6] which is a quantitive and qualitative research report focused on the current social and political issues impacting diversity in the workplace for professionals of color employed in the legal industry or legal departments of corporations.[7] Haden served in the labor management division of the National Football League.[8]

Corporate Counsel Women of Color

Robinson-Haden founded the Corporate Counsel Women of Color which is an American 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization with over 4,500 members, all women, who work primarily for Fortune 1000 corporations and Forbes 2000 legal departments.[9] It's subsidiary, the Corporate Counsel Men of Color,[10] is also the work of Robinson-Haden. She oversees the groups efforts in the United States, South Africa, Europe, Asia, South America, Dubai, and Russia. She focuses on diversity for lawyers, law students, and aspiring lawyers, including an Annual Career Strategies Conference, International Career Strategies Symposium, One-Day Career Strategies Conference for Law Firm Associates, My Life As a Lawyer for Law Students at Southern University Law Center|Southern University Law and the CCMC’s Career/Life Strategies Conference for professionals of color.

Background

From 1998 to 2002 Haden was a labor and employment lawyer at Seyfarth Shaw|Seyfarth Shaw LLP and Epstein, Becker, and Green P.C. Haden was then hired as Assistant General Counsel and Director of Training and Development for CBS Broadcasting Inc. in 2002. She was then promoted to Vice President for CBS, then to Senior Vice President in 2009. In 2004, Haden founded the Corporate Counsel Women of Color (CCWC).

Haden also contributes to the CBS Corporation Diversity Blog. She has served on the board of directors of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.|NAACP LDF.[8]

Personal

Haden and her husband, David Patrick Haden, have one son, David Patrick Haden II.
