Career

Kim started as marketing director at a software company, Progress Software. While working at the company, Kim was introduced to paid search and began developing his interest in applying his coding skills to write programs that helped scrape the web server logs and identify keywords to add to the company’s AdWords account.[8][9]

Following his success in AdWords, Kim left his job and began offering services to clients concerning their AdWords accounts. He soon conceptualized the idea of starting a software platform. He gathered a team of engineers and marketers, developed the first version of WordStream, and secured two venture capitalists to invest in his idea. Kim bootstrapped WordStream in 2007, a Google AdWords Premier Small & Medium-Sized Business (SMB) Partner, delivering internet consulting services and search engine marketing automation software. He served as the company’s CTO, sold the company to Gannett in July of 2018 for $150M, and continues to serve on the board of directors of WordStream.[10]

In September 2018, Kim established MobileMonkey, a sales outreach automation and B2C data prospecting platform for mid-market and small and medium-sized businesses. He serves as the company’s CEO and helps companies to achieve the maximum from their marketing and sales strategies by using automated lead qualification and sales outreach automation programs on the most popular mobile chat applications.[11][12]

As an expert digital marketer with a vast experience and expertise in chatbot marketing, SEO, entrepreneurship, startups, PPC marketing, Facebook Ads, and AdWords, Kim often shares his knowledge as a published author and speaker for various publications and conferences in the digital marketing community. He is known to have participated as a keynote speaker at multiple conferences and events, such as PUBCON, SMX, INBOUND, Social Media Marketing World, and Dreamforce.
