Kristoffer Holten (born March 29, 1992) is a Danish search engine optimization (SEO) expert, speaker, and entrepreneur. He is the founder of KrisHolten ApS, a digital consultancy agency. He is also the co-founder of PrivacySharks, a cyber security company that he later left.[1]
Holten was the COO of Traffic Lab, Search Lab, and SEO head at Fable Media and Blazar Capital. He has been quoted as an authority by publications and has spoken at the Chiang Mai SEO Conference 2023.[2]
Early life and education
Holten grew up in Copenhagen, Denmark, and graduated from Copenhagen Business School with a degree in law in 2016.
In his younger years, Holten participated in short movies aimed at educating Danish middle school students on diverse topics. Notably, in 2005, he portrayed the role of a 12-year-old boy in the short film "Fear of Heights."
Career
Holten is an SEO expert with over 11 years of experience in various niches across multiple markets. He is proficient in on-page and technical SEO, handling blackhat strategies, link-building techniques, and coding in HTML, PHP, Javascript, and CSS. His experience extends to using SEO plugins for WordPress and various email systems and tools, such as Google Suite, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Teams.[3]
Holten started his career in 2012 as an SEO assistant at SiteXploration, specializing in link building for keyword ranking. Following this, he assumed the role of SEO specialist at a Danish agency, managing projects for clients including Probana and YouSee.[4]
In 2014, Holten founded Trustful Media, a digital agency specializing in SEO and PPC services. As the director, he oversaw all SEO and SEM activities for the agency's clients.
In 2016, Holten joined Fable Media as SEO head and later became the marketing head and partner. He formulated organic and paid growth strategies and engaged in SEO, Facebook Ads, Google Adwords, and Native Ads.[5]
In October 2019, Holten started as the Head of SEO at Blazar Capital, an investment firm featured on "Løvens Hule" (Dragons Den in Denmark). He was responsible for developing the SEO strategy and expanding the organic sales channel for startup companies under Blazar Capital's portfolio, including MessyWeekend, Nordgreen, The Plant Era, Jamie Looks, Siccaro, and more.[6]
Holten has years of experience as an SEO expert in the casino industry.[7] His work in the casino space primarily focuses on SEO consulting and strategy for the iGaming and gambling industries.[8][9] He has extensive experience in this niche, including technical optimization, link building, and other SEO strategies to improve online gambling sites' visibility and attract more customers.[10]
In November 2020, Holten became partner and COO at Search Lab, creating and managing affiliate sites within the tech niche. He later joined Traffic Lab, an iGaming company in Copenhagen, where he directed the SEO department and developed affiliate websites within iGaming verticals, focused on generating SEO traffic and surpassing Google standards.
Holten is also the co-founder of Privacy Sharks, a cyber security company. The website reviews popular VPN, antivirus, email protection, and password manager services. The website aims to make it easy and secure for users to browse and use the internet, offering information to help them choose the best online services to protect their data. He left that company when he joined Traffic Lab.
Holten has spoken at industry events and conferences such as the Chiang Mai SEO Conference 2023,[11] SiGMA, and iGB. He has also shared his insights on SEO in podcasts and interviews, including an episode of "The SEO Show."
In addition to his career as an SEO expert, Holten owns a series of websites.
