Kosi Stobbs (born 2 December 1981), also known as The Owl, is a Canadian entrepreneur and real estate mogul. He is the founder of the Owl Group of Companies through which he owns multiple operating companies including Vital Manufacturing, Specific Mechanical Systems and Vertex Logical Solutions Inc.[1] He is regarded as a leading real estate investor who is known for becoming a self-made multi-millionaire.[2][3]

Stobbs is a member of the Peer Council, the BC Advisory Board for the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), and the Forbes Business Council. He has also been listed in Canada’s as well as Vancouver’s Top 40 under 40 lists.[4][5]

Stobbs, in his diversified career, has worked with a number of high-profile clientele and is known to build close professional relationships with them. He has been featured in several media outlets including Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, Daily Advent, Globe News Wire, Forbes, Canadian Real Estate Magazine, and many other publications.[6][7][8][9]

Early life and education

Stobbs was born on 2 December 1981 to Rose and Winston Stobbs. He grew up in a lower middle-class family but started working odd jobs when he was 10 years old. Later, he enrolled in the University of Alberta, where he pursued Mechanical Engineering, graduating in 2004. During this time, he also worked at Burger King in order to raise college tuition.

Career

Stobbs started his career soon after graduating from college. He joined Lehigh Hanson as a maintenance engineer. He worked for two years at this firm, during which he also worked on a Capital Project worth $750,000.[10][11]

In 2006, Stobbs started working at Chevron, as a turnaround planner. He worked for five years at this firm, during which he assumed the roles of a tank program planner and project manager. In 2011, Stobbs joined Solaris MCI as a project and was promoted to the post of Manager of Projects after four years. Stobbs was the youngest of 6 senior managers in a 350-man consulting firm that specialized in the gas sector.[12][13][14]

In 2016, Stobbs founded Owl Group of Companies, an acquisition firm that is known for investing in real estate.[15] Throughout his career, Stobbs has gained recognition for investing in the real estate industry. As the founder of Owl, Stobbs aims at expanding his portfolio and investing in not only real estate but also businesses.[16]

Apart from that, Stobbs is also a renowned writer and has curated several courses such as the Canadian Real Estate Investment Mastery, along with writing a best-selling book titled F$CK BROKE: Let's Get Rich.[17][18][19][20]
