Koloğlu Holding (formerly known as the Kolin group of companies) is a Conglomerate (company) headquartered in Turkey with many subsidiaries, affiliates and joint ventures[1] including companies in ports,[2] mining,[3] roads,[4] construction[5][6] and energy.[7][8] It owns Soma Kolin power station,[9] and is part of the consortium constructing Akkuyu Nuclear Plant.[10] In 2021 it won a tender from Turkish State Railways,[11][12] and along with 4 other companies, was alleged to have been unfairly favoured with Turkish government contracts.[13][14] Opposition Republican People's Party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said in 2022 that the five companies had been awarded over 200 billion dollars worth of contracts during Justice and Development Party (Turkey), and that some of their money was held in Tax haven#British Empire-related tax havens related to the United Kingdom.[15] In 2020 it paid 55 million Turkish lira (about 6 million dollars) in corporation tax.[16] At Sefine shipyard an electric ferry was built and an LNG powered ferry is being built - both for export.[17] In 2019 Kolin Construction sold its share in Istanbul Airport to Kalyon Group.[18] Subsidiary Kolarc Makina makes Power inverter for solar power in Turkey and abroad.[19] Celal Koloğlu is on the board of the Turkish Employers' Association of Construction Industries,[20] and has been president.[21]
