Khaled Kteily is a Lebanese-Canadian entrepreneur who founded the male fertility testing and storage service Legacy in 2018. Kteily encourages men to plan for their fertility, instead of viewing fertility as a women’s issue. [1]

Career

In 2010, Kteily earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in Montreal. [2]He worked as a healthcare consultant at Oliver Wyman in Toronto, and as entrepreneurship expert at the World Economic Forum. [3]

At the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, he received his Master’s in Public Policy in 2018. [4] While attending Harvard, he was an Emirates Leadership Initiative Fellow. [5]

Kteily came up with the idea for Legacy after he accidentally spilled hot coffee on his lap and was worried that we would be left sterile. [6] This prompted to think about how men can preserve their fertility. Legacy, which allows men to collect sperm samples at home and then mail to the company for analysis and storage [7], is one of a number of services that gives users more control over their healthcare and the opportunity to avoid the stigma of certain tests and procedures. [8]

In 2019, Kteily and Legacy won TechCrunch’s Disrupt Berlin competition. [9]

Personal Life

Kteily grew up in Beirut, Lebanon. [10]

Kteily is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Canadian Fertility & Andrology Society. [11]He is an Aspen Ideas Health Fellow [12] and was recently recognized as 40 under 40 by the Arab America Foundation. [13]
