Kerkula Blama (born April 25, 1994), widely known as Aketella, is a Liberian blogger, vlogger, and content creator. He is the founder of Geez Liberia, a popular blog that covers entertainment, lifestyle, and news in Liberia. Since its launch in 2018, Geez Liberia has become a prominent platform for Liberian media, garnering both local and international attention.[1][2]
Early Life and Education
Kerkula Blama was born in Salala, Bong County, Liberia, during the civil war. His family relocated to Monrovia, where he attended St. Phillip Elementary and Junior High School. Later, his family moved to the Firestone Rubber Plantation area, where he graduated from Division 16 Junior High School in 2011 and Firestone Liberia Senior High School in 2015.
Blama pursued higher education at the African Methodist Episcopal University, majoring in Management with a minor in Public Administration. He also obtained a certificate in website design from the Orange Digital Center in 2022.[3]
Career
Blama's career began in 2016 as a music producer collaborating with Paynesville-based artists. He later transitioned into blogging, joining PlusLiberia as a writer and web manager. In 2018, he founded Geez Liberia (originally LIB Geez), which quickly became one of Liberia's leading entertainment blogs.[2][4]
In 2021, Blama expanded his media presence by launching a YouTube channel, offering insights into Liberia's entertainment industry. [5][6][7]In 2022, he hosted a radio show, The Weekend Exclusive, on Kool FM. Under the Geez Group of Companies, Blama oversees several subsidiaries, including Geez Ghana, Geez Nigeria, and Geez Sports.
