Kenny Noel (born 20 September 1994), known professionally as Young Reela, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer.[1] Noel is best known for producing R&B and Hip-Hop soundtracks. He is the founder of Only The Reel Entertainment music production label which has released all his albums including ReelOSSM, LateNightsOSSMFlights, ReelOSSM 2, and Broward County. These albums were created with the supporting artist Arone. Noel has also been signed by Ossom Inc. which is the parent production label of Arone.
Noel’s songs are available on all the music platforms including Spotify, YouTube Music and Soundcloud.[2][3] Noel has also been a celebrity guest on several news podcasts including AllRapNews, ThisIs50, and is considered one of the leading upcoming Hip-Hop artists.[4]
Early life and education
Noel was born in Boynton Beach, Florida. Noel attended Sea Castle Elementary School and then went to the New Renaissance Middle School. Having developed a keen sense of understanding and inclination towards the music scene, he started playing drums at the age of 10, producing and writing music by 13.
Noel completed his high school graduation from Miramar High School in Miramar, Florida.[5][6] He then went to Broward College and pursued an Associate’s degree in Information Technology and later on enrolled in the Florida International University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, majoring in Information Technology and minoring in Philosophy.[7]
Career
Noel had an interest in the music right from his childhood, he along with his few friends started participating in rap battles in the city exploring their talents.[8] Soon, the rap battles lost their charm and stopped after a while. Noel eventually inclined towards writing tracks. He received appreciation and support from his elder brother who bought Noel his very first microphone.
Noel’s compositions are reflective of his experiences and how he dealt with life issues. Most of his work is in collaboration with his childhood friend and supporting artist, Arone. Noel has always been influenced by the works of Wale, Rick Ross, J. Cole, Drake, and Meek Mill, and strive to bring that sort of finesse in his music.[9]
In 2016, Noel and Arone released the debut album - Reelossom comprising six songs. Reelossom turned out to be a success and this project was later expanded into two more versions, ReelOSSM 2 and Reelossom 3.
His second release was LateNightsOSSMFlights which was released in 2017. This album was a culmination of the R & B and Soul genre comprising seven songs. Later in the same year, Noel released the second version of the Reelossom project that comprised eight songs.
In 2019, the duo released an EP named 2 Sides which consisted of five songs. 2020 marked the release of Noel’s double-disc debut album release with Arone called Broward County which has over 20 songs making up to a listening playlist of over an hour. The latest release Reelossom 3 came out in 2020 which is a mixtape and the last installment of the Reelossom series. This mixtape consists of seven songs.
The making of Broward County for Noel was one of the major experiences, as during this time he helped his fellow artist Arone to deal with depression. The song ‘Real Fears’ of this album is based on how he helped Arone overcome her fears. Noel sent voice memos and encouraged her through the tough time.
Noel is also the founder of a music production label called Only The Reel Entertainment, under which all his albums have been released. Noel’s music label is dedicated to bringing forth the young and underrated hip-hop artists. This label has signed four artists, Young Reela, ARONE, CHA$E, and Dre Major.
Noel has also released music through ARONE’s record label OSSM Inc, ARONE being signed to the management umbrella of Only The Reel Entertainment.
