Katie Goodman is an American comedian, actress, filmmaker, comedy writer, author, and speaker. She is a creator, writer, headliner and director of Broad Comedy with her husband Soren Kisiel.[1] [2]Her comedy performances on the show "I Didn't F*ck It Up" have garnered over 5 million views online.[2][3][4][5][6]

Early life and education

Goodman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990.[2]She was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and is the daughter of Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Ellen Goodman. [2][7][8][5][9]

Career

Katie Goodman and her husband, Soren Kisiel, established Broad Comedy in 2001[10], where they serve as creators, writers, and directors.[1][11] Goodman also founded the National Women’s Theatre Festival in Los Angeles in the 1990s and served as Artistic Director of the Philadelphia Women’s Theatre Festival.[12][13][14]She has contributed to O, The Oprah Magazine and authored "Improvisation For The Spirit: Living A More Creative, Spontaneous and Courageous Life Using The Tools of Improv Comedy".[1][15][16][17][18][10][5][19]

Awards and recognition

Katie’s solo show received a Time Out New York Critic’s Pick for “Best Cabaret”[17], and has earned critical acclaim at venues such as Caroline’s on Broadway, Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater, and 54 Below. She performed at the renowned Gilded Balloon in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2013.[1][20][21][17][5]

Personal life

Katie Goodman lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband, Soren Kisiel. They collaborate on creative projects such as Broad Comedy and Goodman's solo performances. Kisiel, a children's book author, has co-written and co-directed Broad Comedy. [22][5][19][6]
