Kate Tablet is a unique pay-at-the-table device for diners at restaurants. It consists of a 7-inch tablet and a credit card reader, designed and assembled in Europe by the Katemedia company. RB One GmbH, the parent company, is the main intellectual property owner.

The tablet has an ordering function, a menu and a payment function (contact or contactless)[1] It offers a games area with pre-installed games[2] Kate Tablet runs an Android OS (Chip and NFC) and has PCI and PTS certification. Katemedia rents the devices to restaurant operators and hotels through a subscription fee and revenue-share on paid games.

History

Development of the Kate Tablet started in 2016. In 2019 it received a PCT and PTS certificate.

At the end of 2019 Kate tablet supported 5 integrations with POS systems[3] In March, 2020, KateMedia has business divisions in Austria, Switzerland, and Russia. Development takes place in Belarus.

Software and Hardware

Kate Tablet hardware is fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry, Payment Application Data Security Standards (PCI PA-DSS) and has PIN Transaction Security approval[4] It has a support card reader module with NFC reader to accept Paywave/Paypass transactions.
