Karwan Azheen (born May 18, 1989) is an Iraqi musician, singer, vlogger, producer, and music instructor.[1] He is widely recognized for his contributions to the music industry as a talented musician and singer with the Edwina Academy and NextGen. Additionally, he imparts his knowledge and skills in music production as an instructor at "The Station."[2]

Early life and education

Azheen was born and raised in Erbil, Iraq, in a family that valued music. His father, Salahulddin Najmadin, is the owner of the renowned Azheen Band, while his brother, Rawand Salahulddin, pursued a career as a drummer.

In 2006, Azheen embarked on his musical journey by learning to play the bass guitar and performing with his father's band. Azheen received his diploma from the Institute of Fine Art in 2012 and continued his education at the University of Salahulddin. Simultaneously, Azheen's interest in English songs grew, leading him to develop proficiency in the language.

Career

In 2009, Karwan Azheen began his career in the music industry by working as a part-time music instructor at the Cambridge International School, where he shared his knowledge and love for music with aspiring musicians. During this period, he made significant strides by participating in notable shows such as "Zher Astirakan" in 2011 and "X-Kurd Like" in 2012, marking his initial foray into the entertainment industry.[3]

In 2013, Azheen formed the band B5Shows, a talented ensemble comprising himself as the lead singer and guitarist, Rayan Zaito as another singer and guitarist, Rawand Salahulddin as the drummer, Sivan Payadar as the saxophonist, and Harvey as the bassist. The band delivered captivating performances for a considerable period before ultimately disbanding in 2020.[4]

Azheen’s dedication to both music and education grew, inspiring him to pass on his skills to the next generation of artists. In 2015, he took on the role of part-time instructor at the Fig Club, where he focused on imparting vocal training, guitar skills, and acting techniques. In 2017, he took on additional responsibilities as the Head of Department at the Cambridge International School in Erbil. Concurrently, he hosted and produced the program "Strings with Karwan" on Cambridge TV.

In 2019, Azheen released his debut single, "Dilm Toy," showcasing his prowess as a songwriter and producer. Subsequently, he joined the British International School, where he continued to explore his musical talents. In 2021, Azheen released his second song, "Le Dirzi Peca," further solidifying his position as a promising solo artist. During the same year, he introduced his own show, "Zhe," on Kurd Max Music, expanding his reach and captivating a wider audience.

In 2022, Azheen decided to devote his full attention to his musical career. He resigned from his position at the British International School to focus on songwriting and music production. Furthermore, Azheen embraced the role of a music production instructor at "The Station," a platform where he imparts his expertise in recording and music creation to aspiring musicians.

In 2023, Azheen participated in the "Music Beat Cancer" concert, offering his musical talents to support the cause. He collaborated as a musician and singer with the Edwina Academy and NextGen, showcasing his dedication to making a positive impact through music.

Personal life

Azheen resides in Erbil, Iraq, with his wife, Banu Bahadin, whom he married in 2021. Azheen along with his wife shares vlogs on his YouTube channel.
