Karoliina Korppoo (born 1984) is a Finnish game designer. She worked at Colossal Order (company) for over 7 years, and is the lead game designer of the critically acclaimed[1] hit game Cities: Skylines, which has sold over 6 million copies[2] and won several awards[3][4]. So far only two Finns have spoken in the main TED conference, with Korppoo being one of them. Korppoo has been known to speak openly for equality and diversity and how the game industry has changed positively during the 12 years she has worked in it. Korppoo’s background is in graphic design[5] and table-top storytelling roleplaying games, and she was the first female Finn to publish a role playing game. Currently Korppoo is leading her own startup company, 10th Muse, founded in 2019, and working on a publishing platform for romantic, interactive text-only stories, called Sana Stories[6]. The app aspires to be the biggest platform on romantic stories where readers can make choices along the story and explore different endings. Korppoo also wants to make sure that the app celebrates equality and diversity through its content[7].
