Karine Sho Time Thornton (born June 5, 1982) is an American hip-hop artist, actor and influencer.[1] He is the founder of Sho-TimeTv, a media company that represents artists in the film and music industry. Sho-TimeTv is a leading American media company that works with several websites and world renowned artists like Nicki Minaj, French Montana and Slaughter House. Thornton is best known for his contribution in the shaping of the hip-hop industry and his appearances in several media productions like PPRESSED, Rodent the Urban Soap Opera, Perate, Chicken Waiting 4 Mr Wright, and A Teenage Story. Thornton is also the founder of TNMG Team NECSERE Music Group and Sho-Time Battle Rap League which is a legendary American rap battle platform.[2][3] Thornton is a well known rap artist and has hosted several concerts and shows. He has also been a judge of various music shows.

Early life and education

Thornton was born in the Bronx, New York to Bernadine Coleman and John Thornton. Thornton was raised by his father. They lived with his younger sister and father in a two bedroom apartment. Since his childhood, Thornton has been inclined towards arts and was passionate about music. Thornton attended an arts and design high school where he pursued architecture and animation. Later on Thornton earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the College of New Rochelle.

Career

Thornton started composing his own songs when he was in high school. He incorporated rap and music into his life. Most of his early songs were produced by Tron on the beat. This was the beginning of Thornton’s career and Sho-Time (artist name of Thornton) was discovered.[4] Soon after Thornton started inducing media and film projects in collaboration with several artists and uploaded them online, which gained much popularity.

This led to the foundation of Sho-TimeTv in 2010 which is a promotional media company that represents Hip Hop, R&B, Soul, Pop, Rock and Techno artists along with working in Movies, films,commercials and music videos.[5] Sho-Time has been associated with top companies including Def Jam, Sony and Universal recording. Thornton’s brand soon gained recognition in Hollywood and has been featured in several radio shows. Sho-TimeTv features video clips along with blog articles and news snippets of the music industry. This company is known for helping artists gain popularity via online promotion and name branding. Sho-Time has become one of the most influential platforms in the music industry as it leverages information of the artists that appeal to the masses to make them popular.

Thornton in 2014 founded TNMG Team NECSERE Music Group, an entertainment brand that supports upcoming artists from around the world providing a platform to showcase their talent. This group provides the artists with the opportunity to work alongside professional DJ’s, music supervisors, beats producers, and other musical giants that help them with their overall growth.

In 2015, Thornton created America’s legendary rap battle platform, Sho-Time Battle Rap League that has organized multiple rap battles some of them being New Blood, No regrets and No Tears event.[6]

In 2016 Sho-time played the lead role in A Battle Rap Film by Vera Edwards, Ricardo Cordero, and Street Line - PPRESSED. He is the casting director of Street Line films and is working in the making of PPRESSED 2.

Sho-TimeTv has also worked on OWN Network and several other websites. He interviewed the cast of the hit show The Have and Have Nots and Love Thy Neighbor by Tyler Perry. Sho-TimeTv has also worked with websites such as Urltv, Vladtv, WorldStarHipHop.com, WhatsHotinHipHop.com.

Thornton has been associated with world class artists like French Montana, Slaughter House, 2 Chainz, Parish Smith, Capone the comedian, Goldie the comedian, Rain, Swave Sevah, Gravy and Nicki Minaj. He was also a part of Rodent the Urban Soap Opera, Perate, Chicken Waiting 4 Mr Wright, and A Teenage Story.[7]

Personal Life

Thornton grew up in a two bedroom apartment in Bronx, New York. He and his sister were raised by his father. Thornton has two daughters named Taylor and London.
