Kam Salami (born 12 May 1986) is a Canadian serial entrepreneur, author, tech-innovator, music producer, and corporate executive.[1][2] He is the co-founder of MySway, a leading advertising and marketing firm based in Miami, Florida. Salami is also the CEO of a licensed medical supply company called Canadian Choice Supply.
Salami’s vision of providing online branding services to customers has transformed MySway to secure a strong position and works with a number of high-profile clientele.[3] He has worked with corporations to diversify their sales channels, create brand awareness programs, and help them gain search visibility to get more traction. Salami specializes in management, strategic planning, leadership, team leadership, and social media optimization.[4]
Salami became the center of considerable media attention for his book The Sleeping Giant. Salami has been featured in several media outlets such as Yahoo, Latestly, Globe-News Wire, and others.[5][6][7]
Early life and education
Salami was born in Iran on 12 May 1986. When he was born, there was an ongoing war between Iran and Iraq. To seek refuge, his family fled to Sweden, where they were captured by immigration. The official personnel destroyed their passports and deported them to Germany. Salami grew in Germany until he shifted to Canada when he was 14 years old.
Salami later enrolled in York University, where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree course in Arts, with a specialization in Psychology. After his graduation, Salami went to the Red Academy, where he did a diploma in Digital Marketing.
Career
Salami started his career in 2002 when he enlisted in the Canadian Army. He served for over six years in the Army as a reconnaissance soldier, during which he was a member of the Domestic Response Unit.[8]
Soon after his exit from the Army, he joined the York Regional Police, where he served for over eight years. During this period, Salami also traveled to China to become a Buddhist Monk but flew back in 2015 to start his entrepreneurial journey. In 2015, Salami started to invest his time and money to establish the world’s first advertising platform that connects people to businesses and brands. In 2018, MySway was established as a leading micro-influencer marketing platform. It is a web-based communications platform that aims at bridging the gap between social media and the corporate sector. Salami established this firm to offer services that connect people with businesses and brands across the world. After a year of its inception, Salami raised a total of $900K in a seed funding round to expand his venture.
In 2018, Salami also became the CEO of Canadian Choice Supply, a licensed medical supplier in Toronto.
Books
Salami is the author of The Sleeping Giant, a self-help book that helps the readers understand deeper aspects of the soul, identify inner wisdoms shared through meditation, cosmic understanding, and science.[9]
Personal life
Salami’s brother Ben is the creator of the Canadian Mortgage App, which is Canada’s number #1 financial mortgage calculator.
