Early life and education

Salami was born in Iran on 12 May 1986. When he was born, there was an ongoing war between Iran and Iraq. To seek refuge, his family fled to Sweden, where they were captured by immigration. The official personnel destroyed their passports and deported them to Germany. Salami grew in Germany until he shifted to Canada when he was 14 years old.

Salami later enrolled in York University, where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree course in Arts, with a specialization in Psychology. After his graduation, Salami went to the Red Academy, where he did a diploma in Digital Marketing.

Soon after his exit from the Army, he joined the York Regional Police, where he served for over eight years. During this period, Salami also traveled to China to become a Buddhist Monk but flew back in 2015 to start his entrepreneurial journey. In 2015, Salami started to invest his time and money to establish the world’s first advertising platform that connects people to businesses and brands. In 2018, MySway was established as a leading micro-influencer marketing platform. It is a web-based communications platform that aims at bridging the gap between social media and the corporate sector. Salami established this firm to offer services that connect people with businesses and brands across the world. After a year of its inception, Salami raised a total of $900K in a seed funding round to expand his venture.
