Ekpeyong Victor Chinonso (born January 1, 1999) better known by his stage name KUSH JNR, is a Nigerian musical artist, singer, songwriter, executive producer. He is the lead singer of Dothype Entertainment Records, and also released solo material. KUSH JNR’s successful debut single in 2020 “Hypnotize”[1]. Kush is the primary solo artist on Dothype Entertainment Records imprint[2][3].
KUSH JNR has been often named as a new sound that inspires people to think positively and live a happy life. He has several associated acts with Djkaywise, Opa6ix, Idowest, and others[4][5][6][7]. KUSH JNR’s visual trademark are his hairstyles and flamboyant glasses and piercings, which were regularly classic. Over his career as a musical-artist, KUSH JNR’s hairstyles have included a bleached blond Caesar, a platinum Caesar (colored with blond spray paint)[8][9].
Early career
As a teen Ekpeyong worked at the mixtape studio at festac town with production engineers Kspell and Killermix. The trio would have been singed as the group Drohit to Dothype Entertainment Records in 2019, unfortunately KUSH JNR triumphed as the hot exclusive indie signed. He lived in the Omole Phase 2 neighborhood at 550 Aina Akinbala Avenue near Otedola’s Estate that is where the group got their name.
Ekpeyong passed through Caleb International School and graduated from St&t Regency College in 2016.
Career
KUSH JNR’s solo album “Hypnotize” was released indie in April 2020[10]. Hypnotize sold moderately at first until the Pre-hype yet release of its second single water gun, the novelty “Hypnotizing”. These were major hits worldwide and MTV-USA chart, making it to number three, this success led to other signings partnering the label[11].
