The Juventus Football Club, sometimes referred to as "Juve," is an Italian professional football team with its headquarters in Turin, in the region of Piedmont. The club plays in the Serie A, which is the highest level of competition in the Italian football league system. The club was established in 1897 by a group of students from the city of Turin. Since 1903, the club's home uniform has featured horizontal black and white stripes. The club has played its home matches at a variety of stadiums located throughout the city, the most recent of which is the Juventus Stadium, which has a capacity of 41,507 spectators. The club is known as Vecchia Signora, which translates to "the Old Lady." It holds the record for most victories in the following competitions: 36 official league titles, 14 Coppa Italia titles, and nine Supercoppa Italiana titles. Additionally, the club has won two Intercontinental Cups, two European Cups / UEFA Champions Leagues, one European Cup Winners' Cup, a joint national record of three UEFA Cups, two UEFA Super Cups As a result, the team tops the historical classification of the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC), and on the international stage, it holds the sixth position in Europe and the twelfth position in the world for the most confederation titles won with eleven trophies, in addition to being ranked fourth in the all-time ranking of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) competitions.

It has competed in every season of the premier club division (reformulated in different formats until the Serie A inception in 1929) since its debut in 1900, with the exception of the 2006–07 season, and has been managed by the industrial Agnelli family almost continuously since 1923. Juventus was founded with the name Sport-Club Juventus and initially served as an athletics club. The relationship between the club and that dynasty is the oldest and longest in national sports, which makes Juventus one of the first professional sporting clubs ante litteram in the country. Juventus has established itself as a major force in the national stage since the 1930s and at confederation level since the middle of the 1970s. Additionally, Juventus has become one of the top-ten wealthiest in world football in terms of value, revenue, and profit since the mid-1990s, and it has been listed on the Borsa.

In the latter part of the year 1897, students from the Massimo d'Azeglio Lyceum school in Turin, including the Canfari brothers Eugenio and Enrico, established the sport club that would later be known as Juventus. After those two years, the name was changed to the Football Club Juventus. In the year 1900, the club became a member of the Italian Football Championship. On March 11, 1900, Juventus competed in their debut game, which was a loss against Torinese by the score of 1-0.
