The UEFA Super Cup is an annual football tournament arranged by UEFA and contested by the champions of the two most important European club competitions, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. The European Super Cup was the competition's official name until it was renamed the UEFA Super Cup in 1995, as part of UEFA's rebranding campaign. It is not considered to be one of UEFA's key tournaments.

From 1972 to 1999, the UEFA Super Cup was played between the champions of the European Cup/UEFA Champions League and the winners of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. Following the abolition of the UEFA Cup Champions' Cup, it has been contested by the winners of the UEFA Champions League and the winners of the UEFA Cup, which was renamed the UEFA Europa League in 2009.

Chelsea is the current champion, having defeated Villarreal 6–5 on penalties in 2021 after a 1–1 draw after extra time. Barcelona and Milan are the most successful teams in the tournament, having each won the trophy five times.
