Julian Mitton is a healthcare management leader and medical doctor with a wealth of experience in addiction care, health care innovation and implementation science.[1] Julian received his Bachelor's degree in Political Philosophy from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Studies, his medical degree from the School of Medicine, State University of New York at Stony Brook, and his Master's degree in Public Health in Clinical Effectiveness from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health of Harvard University. He completed his residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital.[2]

Julian's passion for addiction care stems from his experience working as a health educator, where he saw firsthand the devastating effects of addiction on individuals and families. Early Life and Education

Julian Mitton was raised in New York City. He received his Bachelor's degree in Political Philosophy from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Studies. During his undergraduate years, Julian became interested in healthcare and public health issues, which led him to pursue work as a health educator in global health and community health. He then decided to pursue a career in healthcare leadership and consulting

In 2017, Julian earned his Master's degree in Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. During his time at Harvard, he specialized in Clinical Effectiveness and honed his skills in healthcare management and implementation science. He was recognized for his outstanding academic performance and commitment to community health while completing his residency and post-doctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Julian's passion for addiction care stems from his experience as a health educator. He saw firsthand the devastating effects of addiction on individuals and families and wanted to do more to help and empower patient narratives in substance use disorder care. This led him to pursue a career in health care leadership and advocacy, where he could work with healthcare organizations to improve their addiction care programs and help individuals and families seeking compassionate, evidence-based care for substance use disorders. This includes both research initiatives evaluating novel treatment protocols and policy initiatives aimed at increasing access to care.

Career

After gaining valuable experience in health care research and leadership, Julian Mitton continued his work outside of clinical practice as a leader with nationally recognized and innovative health systems.[5]

As a healthcare leader and implementation science expert, Julian works with healthcare organizations to develop and implement strategies that improve patient outcomes and overall organizational performance. He has helped numerous organizations improve their addiction care programs, reduce readmission rates, promote health equity, strengthen integrated behavioral health through clinical innovation, and achieve compliance with regulations.[6]

Julian is also a recognized thought leader in the healthcare industry and has published several peer-reviewed articles and white papers on healthcare management, addiction care, health equity and healthcare innovation.
