Judi Marmel is an American entertainment executive and co-founder, president and executive producer at Levity Live! [1] She is one of the only women founding or running a major comedy/entertainment firm. Her most recent TV and film credits include executive producer of Chuck Lorre’s upcoming HBO Max series How to Be a Bookie[2] starring Sebastian Maniscalco, producer of Lionsgate’s feature film About My Father starring Maniscalco and Robert DeNiro, and producer of Legendary, and Sony’s upcoming feature film The Machine starring Bert Kreischer and Mark Hamill.

Career

Levity Live

In 2009, Marmel and her partners, Robert Hartmann and Stu Schreiberg [3], founded Levity Live[4], [5] an entertainment company that brings together production companies, talent management and development, and a network of mixed-use live entertainment venues under the Improv and Levity Live brands. Marmel, who leads the talent management division, participates in the development and execution of the company’s global growth strategy.[6]

Other Ventures

In 2018 Marmel and her team acquired the comedy brand The Improv, [7] which expanded the company’s live venue platform. Marmel works closely with Levity’s three production banners, Levity Productions, [8] Triage Entertainment, [9] and Lando Entertainment on both scripted and non-scripted programming across distribution platforms Netflix, Comedy Central, Showtime, and Food Network.

In addition, she has worked on comedy specials with comedians that include Maniscalco, Taylor Tomlinson, Kreischer, Fortune Feimster, and Jeff Dunham.

Personal Life

Marmel resides in Los Angeles, CA. with her husband. She is an active board member of Comedy Gives Back [10], a non-profit that supports local comedians in their community providing financial relief in times of crisis.
