Early life and education

Diaz was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, the third child of Carlos and Ana Diaz. He was born with cerebral palsy. As he matured, his poetry evolved to encompass the intricacies of his neighborhood, offering vivid portrayals that captured everyday life and the tumultuous events that unfolded within it.
